Professional Lemon Squeezer w/ Zester & Recipes

As someone who enjoys cooking, I love adding extra flavor to recipes. Citrus, both juice and zest, is a great addition to many dishes; but how many people simply skip it for lack of wanting to squeeze a lemon? Here's an easy solution: The Professional Lemon Squeezer & Zester by Mixologist World.

With an easy to use lemon squeezer and cold presser for lime, pressing fruit instead of grinding it like some juicers makes it quicker, easier on the hands. and less of a mess. Great when making fresh squeezed lemonade or adding flavor to a salad or fish dish.

I made a few things with my new lemon squeeze & zester set. First we made a Homemade Lemon Basil Vinaigrette you can see the recipe here.

The lemon squeezer was quick and easy to use, getting almost every drop out of that poor lemon! 

Then I made a frozen lemonade with my daughter's help.

Frozen Lemonade Ingredients 

• 1 and 1/2 lemons
• 1/4 cup sugar (or to taste)
• 1 big handful of ice
• Water
• Magic Bullet or blender device

1. Start with your ice, fill your bullet to the top (or a big handful into a blender)

2. Squeeze in the lemons

*The lemon squeezer was so easy to use my 6 year old helped here*

3. Add the sugar, then fill with water. (about 2 cups in a blender)

4. Garnish with lemon zest and enjoy!

I really liked both these items, my boyfriend, daughter and myself found the lemon squeezer easy to use. And the zester has 2 sides, one for small cooking zests and one for garnish as seen here. My only problem with this set was that the holes for the lemon/lime juice are on the rounded side, leaving some of the juice in the squeezer unless you turn it upside down. Over all these are both great products for cooking and drink making!

I love cooking and LOVE cooking with garlic so I was very excited when I received the Superior Chef Collection Large Garlic Press by Peppermate to review. Garlic is probably my most favorite addition to any dish. From spaghetti to stir fry you'll find me adding it to almost anything.  I especially enjoy cooking with fresh garlic; however I hate mincing it, or even cutting it for that matter. Half the time I end up just crushing my garlic throwing it in as is. I don't mind large chunks of garlic in my food, however my family isn't always as pleased with them. So a press is a great idea.

We really enjoyed this Garlic press when we made a homemade Lemon Basil Vinaigrette. Where I would normally try to mince my garlic, but get tired or annoyed and just stop at "chopped";  we were able to just plop a few cloves is the press and tada!

And as you can sort of see in the above picture, I fit 3 cloves of garlic in the press at one time! This shortened my cutting/chopping/mincing time to a fraction of the time.

And my boyfriend loved it as well, nothing makes a kitchen gadget better than getting your man to join you in the kitchen.

This product went over great at my house! Keira, my 6 year old, was so excited to start painting as soon as the set arrived. Here she is deep in concentration tongue out and all! I loved how kid friendly these paints were, and that the set came with a paint brush, so no extra supplies needed. Overall, I loved the Wine Eccentric Wine Aerator and Wine Aerator! It came in a new case, perfect for storing when not in use. The aerator and case were both plastic so there's no worry about breaking or care. The Aerator comes in two pieces, the main piece and a straw, they were easy to assemble. I received a 16oz PURE copper mug for Moscow Mule to review. Upon receiving this mug I had two thoughts:
#1 this was an absolutely beautiful mug
#2 what exactly is Moscow Mule?

Thanks to our good pal Google, I found out pretty quickly that Moscow Mule is an easy vodka drink, traditionally drank from copper mugs.

Moscow Mule Ingredients 

• 1/2 ounce lime juice
• 2 ounces vodka
• 4 to 6 ounces ginger beer
• Moscow Mule Copper Mug

Instructions:

Squeeze lime juice into a Moscow Mule mug and drop in the spent shell.

Add 2 or 3 ice cubes, then pour in the vodka and fill with cold ginger beer. 

Serve with a stirring rod.

I love this mug! The pure copper conducts heats, making a cold drink colder and it stays cold. I love how you can feel the icy cold through the mug. The pure copper is absolutely beautiful! I would use these for drinks as well as a decoration in the kitchen when not in use. My only concern is that due to the pure copper make, you MUST dry this cup thoroughly or you will get discoloration. Overall a great product!

It's only been 4 years?

I'm back!

I can't believe it's been almost 4 years since my last blog post! 

So much has change in that 4 years, but I've been thinking about getting this show back on the road. I've missed blogging and reviewing, so I'm going to try to start it all back up. I recently starting  couponing and applying for freebies/samples again, but that's just not enough for me! I re-joined Bzzagent and a few other WOM sites in hopes to get this blog back on track.
